Immanuel's Stained Glass Window

The Lord Is My Shepherd. I Lack Nothing. - Psalm 23:1

Jesus

Jesus’ Robe: The red robe represents the blood that Jesus shed as our Savior (Hebrews 9:22, 13:12).

Jesus’ Stole: The white stole represents how Jesus’ blood has purified us from all sins (1 John 1:7).

Jesus’ Staff: The staff reminds us how Jesus comforts us and leads us to green pastures and quiet waters (Psalm 23).

The Sheep

Sheep & Lambs: Jesus is our good shepherd and we, the believers, are his precious sheep and lambs (John 10). Jesus holds one lamb near his heart (Isaiah 40:11).

Seven Sheep & Lambs: The number seven represents holiness in God’s Word. The world was created in seven days and the seventh day is the holy Sabbath day. The seven sheep and lambs represent the believers in the Holy Christian Church.

The Vine & Tree

Dove: The dove represents the Holy Spirit who comforts and guides us here on earth (Matthew 3:16-17; John 14:18).

Vine: Jesus says that he is the vine and we are the branches that bear fruit for him (John 15:1-7).

Large Tree: Large trees have been used in scripture and in history as important meeting places. Jesus met with Abraham and Gideon near great trees (Genesis 18; Judges 6). As our Prophet, Priest, and King, Jesus is meeting with us, his believers, near a large tree.

The Lilies & Mountains

Lilies: If God cares about the lilies of the fields which are here today and gone tomorrow, how much more does he care for us (Matthew 6:24-34).

Mountains: Jesus tells us that if we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can tell mountains to move (Matthew 17:20).
