Greetings, Redeemed in Christ!
I am Pastor Craig Wasser, and I have served as pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1993.
My path to becoming a pastor began in 1981 when the Holy Spirit directed my heart to attend Martin Luther Prep High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. I then moved on to Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin. After graduation, I attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin for my last four years of preparation to be a pastor. After graduating from our Seminary in 1993, I was assigned by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod to serve Immanuel here in Salem, Oregon.
My wife’s name is Gretchen - We are high school sweethearts who have been married since 1990, and God has blessed us with four beautiful children: Justin, Katie, Naomi, and Alexia. Gretchen currently teaches the Kindergarten class at our school, where she has taught since 2002. We love serving Salem, and we especially love serving Immanuel here in Salem.
Immanuel has a great history, and I would like to share it with you sometime. In one way or another it has been a part of this community since 1967. God willing, it will continue to be one of his tools for centuries to come!
Thanks for reading this - May God bless you! We look forward to connecting with you soon.
